Superfast broadband frustration

So, upgrade to super broadband? Well on the 18th January we should have been on it, engineer arrived installed a box and new hub and yes, no. There's a problem with a fibre connection.

A week later two call to come and install the Superfast broadband, only the contracted engineer that arrived had come along to do what his colleague had done a week before.

He did trace the fault to the same issue but had not fetched anything to repair it, had he known though....Yes I know, but they obviously don't communicate to each other. Still we had the 'Standard' broadband, no real hardship.

During this time though, BT had already made an appointment to come on the 5th February. They sent two emails to make sure we would be at home between 1pm & 6pm. I arrive home and the broadband is off all together, no BT engineer arrives though, but hey, it's a fault at the box with the connection, that's what the other engineer told us, so perhaps that's why it's down and the engineers there.

No engineer arrives between 1.00 & 6.00pm, glad we made the effort to be at home. Having read the literature provided it could be off until midnight though, hope yet.

Well this morning it is still off, so a call to BT, and 'No. if we could get on line we would try the help service there' just answer the phone please. Anyway, it transpires that we now have no broadband and it will be Monday before they can send an engineer and "if the fault is internal it will cost £129.00 to put it right".

Well, let's think this through, up until yesterday morning we had standard broadband and the only thing that has changed is that BT were upgrading to Superfast Broadband which by all accounts is in the little green box up the road.

It's not in the huge BT building at the bottom of my garden then?' What is in there?, I digress.

So how is this going to be an internal fault, and why must I be expected to pay another £129.00 when the only people that have touched the cabling are BT Engineers or Contractors?

We shall see how that goes on Monday, I suspect. Anyway, Superfast is now non-existent, perhaps a neighbour will allow me to log on to theirs so that I can work this weekend.
