A golden opportunity to train as a social worker is being offered by Cheshire East Council and its partners.
Graduates who have experience of working with children, young people and families are being offered a bursary of £15,000 per year.
Cheshire East Council is taking part in the Step Up to Social Work programme, which is being funded by the Children’s Workforce Development Council.
Councillor Hilda Gaddum, Cabinet member with responsibility for children and family services, said: “Successful candidates will achieve a masters in social work in 18 months, as well as intensive hands-on experience.
“All course fees are paid and a bursary of £15,000 per year is available, so any graduates, who would like to take advantage of this opportunity, please get in touch.“
There will be two one-hour briefing sessions held in Crewe Town Hall on Thursday, July 21, starting at 10am and 11am. For more information log on to www.cwdcouncil.org.uk/step-up.
Almost 200 people are already taking part in the Step Up to Social Work nationally.
The Children’s Workforce Development Council has just released a second cohort of places across England and prospective applicants are encouraged to apply online at www.cwdcouncil.org.uk/step-up. The application process is open between August 1st and 31st, 2011.
