Speed checks frequently take place in and around the Audlem area at various times of the day.

Speeding vehicles are one of the main concerns for local residents and it is the minority of people that cause the problems.

Yesterday, Saturday December 6th, speed checks were made between 9:10am and 9:45am on Cheshire Street next to the junction of Daisy Bank Crescent.

During this period 108 vehicles passed and five were found speeding. Vehicles were recorded at 37mph x2, 38mph, 39mph and 42mph.

This is quite typical of the numbers that I record when out and about and although this is five cars too many it is worth pointing out that around 95% of vehicles were keeping to the speed
limit.

We will continue with speed enforcement in the area and we advise all motorists to drive sensibly thinking about the road conditions and please keep to the limits.
