Cheshire East residents are to be consulted as part of a review of services for older people, those with disabilities and carers.

There's a public meeting in Nantwich Civic Hall from 7.00 – 9.00pm tomorrow Thursday 25th November. We apologise for not publishing anything earlier but it has only just been brought to our notice.

The consultation is looking at Cheshire East's 'Social Care Charging Review.' The consultation period for this review runs until 31st January 2011.

Cheshire East council also wants to consider proposals on the future of transport provision for older and disabled people which they say "is a costly and discretionary service which does not fit with the national and local agenda for personalisation." This, it appears, refers to the the use of Council owned fleet of mini-bus services which many individuals use to get to and from Day Care.

The consultation period on Social Care Transport runs until 31st December.

You can check out the Cheshire East website – click on the link below the photo – although further details on these consultations are not immediately apparent. If you find further details, do let Audlem Online know where it can be found.
