In the last report before the halfterm break, Safer Internet Day was highlighted.

Mr Davies and our fantastic eSafety Champions led an assembly on Tuesday where they shared this year's theme 'Together for a better Internet' and encouraged every child to be safe online.

We have reiterated the importance of playing games which are age appropriate throughout this week and have also revisited the importance of staying safe online when using any messaging or communication links.

Please also be aware of the importance of checking the content of games with PEGI ratings for primary aged children before allowing your child to access them. Many of these games contain cartoons or images of a violent nature.

I am sure you support us in this important work and would encourage parents and carers to revisit this important message at home by taking the opportunity to discuss these matters with your children as we continue to work together to keep safe online. Useful resources for parents and carers to help keep your child safe online can be found here.

As follow up to our work about Internet Safety Day last week, PCSO Nick held one of his regular lunchtime drop-in sessions for children to discuss anything they were concerned or worried about. As always this proved very popular and it was great to see so many children taking the opportunity to go over their understanding and key messages of online safety with Nick and Sarah as part of this important work.
