There was an interesting Chatbox post yesterday which is worth publishing for a wider audience.

Troglodite wrote: "Three calls yesterday from 005167172092, which Google tells me is one of the numbers used by scammers who say they work with/for Microsoft/Windows and that they have spotted a visus on your PC.

"I didn't recognise the number, so didn't pick up the 'phone. They called back a couple of hours later. I didn't pick up, and again, they didn't leave a message.

"Third call was picked up by Mrs Troglodite – bless her little cotton socks – who remonstrated with the poor soul at the other end about the incompetence of those who call numbers that are registered with the Telephone Preference Service.

"Would it be worthwhile answering such calls and stringing the callers along for as long as possible? Any opinions?"
