Audlem Saints faced arguably their toughest rivals on Sunday, the current League Champions Bocca. In much better conditions than last week, Audlem could play some flowing football and they raced into a 3-0 lead. Creating lots of chances and simply denying Bocca the ball, Audlem looked a tremendous side for two thirds of the game.
In the final period though, Bocca played well and Audlem lost their shape, their discipline and a little of their confidence. Panic set in and Bocca clawed back a couple of goals. At the final whistle Audlem had hung on to the lead to win 3-2. It was a shame to end the match "hanging on" as the play in the first 2/3 of the game had been fantastic.
The next game is on Friday night as Audlem play Red Dot in a 2nd/3rd place play-off match held over from before Christmas.
