Yesterday, Sunday, we harvested the Big Christmas Tree from the plantation. Last May we selected the tree from amongst many fine specimens and now it has been felled.

Pete "Mumbles" cut the tree once again in his own expert manner. I am delighted to say we are very grateful to Richard Furber, who has for many years now, freely given his time and tractor and trailer in transporting the tree to the village.

It now awaits myself and ADAS members taking on the task of putting it in place in the centre of the Square. In this operation we will have Jonathan Gleave ensuring the tree is slotted into its upright position.

Then begins the job of dressing it with the myriad of tree lights.

More to follow as we move to ensure Audlem is once more a truly lovely place over the Festive Season.
