Running for Roland

On Sunday 3rd October thousands of runners will take to the streets for the London Marathon.

Amongst them will be Wendy Hall who has been inspired to run by an Audlem resident. Wendy's father-in-law is Roland Hall.

Roland was a familiar face around the village, contributing to many aspects of Audlem life such as the village plan, Village Hall annexe and the gym. and was Probus Social Secretary and President.

Last year, Roland was diagnosed with Parkinson's dementia and is now receiving excellent round the clock care at Corbrook Park.

Wendy wants to help other families and has teamed up with Dementia UK who provide the specialist support that families need to face dementia, offering one-to-one support, expert guidance and practical solutions. If you would like to contribute to this worthy cause then please do so via the link here

Good luck Wendy!

In addition to the above he was involved in so much else with his friends – golfer, cricket fan, avid Nottingham Forest fan, snooker player and a key member together with Linda in the 46ers walking group and Local Conservative party chairman
Alvar Jones
