Kirstin Dixon, clerk to Audlem Parish Council, has advised that an update from Cheshire East Highways says that the closure of the A51 is now going to be only from 11th to 17th June, again between 9.30am and 15.30pm.

Previously, the closure notice indicated from Friday 6th until Thursday 19th June. Our report therefore now reads:

There could be heavier traffic than normal through Audlem for a couple of weeks next month because of a road closure on the A51 (Nantwich – Woore). The official notices says:

Road Closure: The following length of road:-
A51 London Road, Stapeley from its junction with Peter Destapleigh Way to Howbeck Bridge.

It is anticipated the works will be carried out from 11th to 17th June, weekday working only between 09:30 – 15:30 hours.

The closure is necessary to enable Cheshire East Highways to carry out patching works. The alternative diversion route will be via:

A51 Nantwich Road, A525 Audlem Road/Woore Road, A529 Cheshire Street/Audlem Road, A530 Peter Destapleigh Way, and return.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Vehicular access will be maintained for
emergency vehicles and residents where possible.
