Return of the Wednesday night quiz

Audlem Online has received the following news item from Ralph Warburton:

"Some 7 years ago we had a quiz night each week in the "old" Lord Combermere – supported by a succession of different landlords. This was very popular and I became quiz master there in around 2004. With the closure of the pub for its wonderful re-birth, the Quiz night moved to the White Lion at Hankelow and for the past year we have enjoyed excellent events there – helping Gareth with extra trade.

"With the demise of the White Lion, Quiz night returns to Audlem and I am delighted to say that we will recommence at the Lord Combermere – starting on 30th January at 9.00pm.

"Over the years the funds generated from the quiz teams has been donated to – amongst others – the Tsunami appeal, ADAS , Hankelow Amenities Society etc.

Each team pays £2 in total to enter. Teams of 2, 3, 4 or 5 are welcome. Prizes of beer and wine are given at each round. All are welcome and I can promise you good fun – and sensible questions! Quiz Night at the Lord C will take place each Wednesday all the year round. Quiz Masters are Mike Haines and myself."
