The Lawrence family are setting a wonderful example of recording their family history.

For a family get together a large display has been completed starting from the Coos Farm before WW1 and tracing the progress of one of four members of the family in the Army and another in the Navy.

They are kindly lending the display to the History Society for the September meeting which has the effect of the War locally as its subject.

Three photos have been put up on the website Archive showing life at the Coos. The wartime photos are to be kept back until after the September meeting – including the items treasured by people living in the village dating back to this time.

You can see the photos on the archive website (go here and enter keyword "coos").

Wouldn't it be wonderful if more families recorded what they know so that the information is not lost.
