Ed: A poem from local poet Jessie which was very topical for Wednesday this week!

Raindrops

From my kitchen window
I watched the raindrops
Gathering on my clothes line, outside.

It had been raining heavily-
For some hours.
Then the sun began to shine through
And brightened up my view.

The clothes line was laden with raindrops,
So I watched a while-
Kitchen chores forgotten!

One by one the raindrops raced-
Descending, with speed.
To the lowest point of the line.
Then, each time there was a collision,
One trembled, and fell to the ground.

Rather like "10 green bottles"
Not green bottles this time
But quivering, glittering little raindrops,
Glowing in the sun's early light .

In an instant- gone
And then there were none.

I try to see what I look at.
