At Monday's Parish Council meeting, two of the current local controversial developments came up for mention:
The PC has received a letter from the potential developers asking for their reaction to the proposed development. After discussion, the PC decided to respond indicating that they were not prepared to respond formally until a definite planning proposal was submitted, but that what they understood was being proposed appeared to be in general terms against the spirit of the emerging Neighbourhood Plan.
We understand that a Residents Association in the area of Tollgate/Moorsfield has been formed to oppose the development. At this stage they are apparently trying to make sure that every resident in the affected area is aware of the need to respond to the developer's initial consultation, so as not to allow them to claim that people were given the chance to object and did not take it.
A planning proposal (number 15/5761N) has been made for two dwellings on the land to the south of Mill Lane. The PC's reaction was that this proposal was not significantly different from the one they opposed before, and that they would therefore register their opposition to it on the same grounds.
A letter from the residents at The Mount was read out detailing the various recommendations in the Neighbourhood Plan that could be used to object to the application.
