Andy Cliffe started this project about eight years ago during cardiac rehabilitation.

A large number of photographs were collected and Andy has organised them a bit and put the collection on Facebook for the world to take a historical look at our village.

He has been surprised by how many people of various ages have reacted to it and are reminiscing between each other about the good old days.

Andy says

"If we can all root out our old photographs depicting Audlem past, and put them together in one place for everyone to enjoy, the project hopefully will grow and prosper.

"We've all got a village to be proud of, let's show it off, don't leave your photographs sat in a drawer, or collecting dust up in the attic.

"What becomes of the page it depends on us all.

"To date we have I think 390 members. (Not bad for a week, and probably more by now)."

At this point your AudlemOnline editor should admit to a complete lack of knowledge or expertise about facebook, so if anyone cares to submit an idiot's blow-by-blow account of how to use/join/submit photos/whatever for facebook we will be pleased to publish it.

The Audlem Archive

The facebook project is a completely separate project to the Audlem Archive, created and updated by Audlem History Society, although there is obviously considerable overlap in the information on both sites.

It is hoped that if this facebook project is successful, the two can work out how to co-ordinate their efforts to bring out the best in both.
