It is the September meeting of Audlem Parish Council on Monday evening at 7.30pm at the Methodist Church Hall.

It could be a lively meeting with the Mill Lane development prominent on the agenda. The Parish Council held an Extraordinary meeting on 22nd August to assess the public's view of this development when a show of hands amongst the hundred or so there showed virtually unanimous opposition to the planning application to build 36 dwellings either side of the Mill Lane bridleway.

We understand the parish council has been working hard in the meantime on its response, including distributing a leaflet to households outlining its position, and will presumably finalise and agree that formally at the meeting as the deadline for responses is on 4th September.

There is a Public Forum at the start of the meeting where the public can raise points to be considered at the meeting.

Other items for discussion include a report from Mr Nick Powell of Wulvern Housing which we assume to be an update on the plan to replace Thornton House with bungalows and a report from the project working group on the issue of gaining ownership of the playing fields from Cheshire East Council.
