Certificate & Award Presentation

Janet and the team at Overwater Marina are very proud to have won Chester's High Sheriff's Award for Enterprise for Corporate Responsibility.

These awards are presented in partnership with the University of Chester to companies with a turnover of at least £500,000 and have between 5 and 250 employees and who are sensitive to the impact of activities on students, employees, partners and other stakeholders, as well as on the regional community and environment.

This award recognises the high standard in the way the marina organises and integrates corporate social responsibility in their business practice. This includes commitment to equality, diversity and respect for their staff, support for the local community and development of sustainable systems in the care of the environment.

Support of the Royal National Lifeboat Institute and the Audlem Lass Boat Service were key factors in winning this prestigious award. Please see the video of the awards at www.chester.ac.uk/highsheriff-enterprise.

The Office of High Sheriff, which is more than 1,000 years old, is an independent non-political Royal appointment for a single year.

The 'Shire Reeve' used to be responsible to the king for the maintenance of law and order and the collection and return of taxes within the county but whilst the duties of the role have evolved over time, supporting the Crown and the judiciary remain
central elements of the role today.
