Open Day at Fire Station today

Audlem Fire Station is to hold an Open Day and Recruitment Drive today Saturday, as new part-time community firefighters are needed urgently in Audlem.

A Fire Service representative says: "We are currently recruiting part-time community Firefighters, known as Retained Duty System (RDS). All RDS Firefighters must live or work within 5-minutes of the Fire Station.

"If you're interested, please come along to our Open Day/Recruitment Drive at Audlem Fire Station on Saturday 31st January 2009 starting at 10.30am until 4.00pm to see if this exciting job would suit you. During the day there will be lots to see, including:

  • Introduction into being a retained Fire-fighter and what it involves.
  • Displays from the Audlem crew, such as:
  • Pumping and ladder Drill.
  • Road traffic collision (RTC) – demonstration
  • Presence from the Audlem Fire Cadets
  • The recruitment process including a practical demonstration of the entry tests
  • And much more!
