At the Parish Council meeting on Monday evening, it was reported that there is still no positive news about a Post Office service being restored in Audlem.
Although responses have been received from the Post Office authorities about their ongoing failure to resolve the issue, there is still no progress, in spite of their earlier assurances that they expected some positive action within five weeks of the closure in late April.
Councillors resolved to write again to the Post Office asking for real action, and to the local MP, Antoinette Sandbach, to request support for a realistic deadline for the service to be resumed.
Councillors also expressed their concerns about the future of the local employees in the sorting office and mail delivery, who are temporarily working from the Crewe office.
