Sapphire and Pearl classes had some special visitors on Thursday, Mr and Mrs Huntbach and Jack, their herdsman, brought two of their calves to school and talked to both classes about their work on their farm.
The children had lots of questions and were thrilled to meet the special visitors as part of their topic on Farms. Thank you to the Huntbach family for giving their time to share this wonderful experience with our children.
Thank you to all of the parents who joined us for our New Classes Open Evening on Thursday night. Many parents commented on how useful these sessions were as they were able to find out more about their child's new year group and how to continue to help to support their child/ren at home.
We are sending home the 'How to Help Support Your Child' leaflets which were
distributed at these sessions, to all families who were unable to attend today – please look out for these in your child's school bag.
Our first Active Audlem session for parents, children and staff took place this morning and once again it was a wonderful way to wake us all up and get our brains and body ready for our day! Thank you to everyone who joined us for this.
Our football team made a good start to the new season on Monday as they drew 2-2 in their first game at home to Wrenbury. Well done and good luck in tonight's game away to Berkeley. I will let you know how they get on in next week's newsletter.
Children in each class have been busy designing their own Christmas Cards to be printed as part of FASA's fund raising for school. Each child's card will be made into a sample card and families will be able to order packs of these cards with some of the proceeds going to school funds. Look out for the samples in your child/ren's reading bags later this term.
Remember, FASA's first fundraising event of the school year is a Pub Quiz at the Lord Combermere on Tuesday 30th September. The quiz begins at 9pm and will be hosted by Ralph Warburton. All proceeds from the quiz go to FASA and their support for projects in school.
Plans for Spooky Night are now in full swing, it will be held at the Scout and Guide hall on Sunday 2nd November. The EYFS and Key Stage 1 disco will run from 4pm -5.15pm and the Key Stage 2 discos will run from 5.30pm-7pm.
FASA are always keen to hear from individuals, businesses and companies who are willing to donate raffle prizes for their events. Businesses or companies which are not in a position to donate prizes but would be willing to support in other ways, for example, supporting the costs of printing raffle tickets, are also of great benefit to FASA's work.
If you know of anyone who may be able to support FASA in this way please let Miss Cooper in the School Office or Deborah Varley, FASA's Chair, know so they can contact them directly. Many thanks.
Thank you to all of the families who have donated to our Rag Bag Bin recently. Remember, any old clothes, shoes or covers that are donated are converted to money for school resources.
