Enjoying the Sunshine and Learning New Skills!

Children in Sapphire and Pearl classes went on an exciting trip to the seaside on Wednesday. As part of their seaside topic, they visited Llandudno to learn all about a contrasting seaside location.

They had great fun making beach art inspired by Andy Goldsworthy before taking the tram up the Great Orme, where they went on a fossil hunt and learnt all about the seaside resort.

Our Year 6 children began their week with two Bikeability sessions. These sessions saw them take to the local roads with their instructors to check their road awareness and safety knowledge. I am pleased to report that they all did tremendously well in these sessions and the instructors that worked with them were very impressed with their skills. Well done!

Sports

Children in our Key Stage 2 classes competed in our Key Stage 2 Sports Tournament last Friday, representing their Teams to gain points for an overall winner. Congratulations to Rowan team who won this event overall. We will be holding an EYFS and Key Stage 1 Sports Tournament next week – I wonder if a different team will win?

Well done to all of our children from Year 2-6 who took part in the Nantwich Cross Country event at Malbank School on Monday. All of the children ran extremely well and represented school brilliantly.

A special congratulations to Esther Wilding, winner of the Year 4 girls race; Raif Serif, winner of the Year 6 boys race and Hannah Teale who came 2nd in the Year 6 girls race. Thanks to Mr Griffiths and Mrs Heathcock for organising this and to all the family parents who cheered the children on.

FASA

Our Summer Fair was a hive of wonderful activity and a wonderful team effort last week. The event raised an amazing £966. This is a terrific amount and is thanks to your support and the commitment of the FASA team who spent the weeks before the fair planning and preparing for it.

FASA's Film Night (which raised £226) and Refreshments stall at our Sports Day (which raised £76) have also been fantastically well supported by parents and children. FASA would like to thank all of the families and staff who have supported their events throughout the year.

Please don't forget our RagBag bin. Any old clothes, sheets etc can be placed in
the bin at the front of school and converted into funds for school. Please remember to put all donations for the RagBag bin into bags before placing them in the collection bin. Thank you.

ABC Childcare

It is less than two weeks now until the summer holidays and ABC's base in Crewe are running their successful holiday club. They can organise a collection and drop off service to and from Audlem upon request. Their holiday club itinerary was sent out with the newsletter last week and can be found as an attachment on our website under the newsletters tab. Please get in touch with Lynsey for further information 01270 669050.

Finally

Child/ren were bringing home their end of year report yesterday. On Tuesday 15th July we are holding an Open Morning (8.45am – 9.30am) for parents to join their child/ren in class and to share their work.

This will be followed by an Open Evening (3.30pm – 6pm) where you can look through their work in more detail and you can discuss any aspect of the report with myself or their class teacher. I hope you are able to join us for one or both of these events.
