Audlem's football team have been joined by a new squad member.
Their new mascot is a wild boar named Oswald rescued by the Chester branch of the RSPCA after having been spotted roaming the woodland around nearby Delamere Forest.
The animal shelter had been worried that finding a home for Oswald would prove impossible, but a happy ending was on the cards.
Audlem FC had been looking for a team mascot for some time before happily coming upon Oswald. One of the players with ties to the local shelter was told about the search to re-home the old boar and immediately thought of the football team.
Their strip features three boar's heads prominently on the chest.
Oswald will be in regular attendance at home matches on the playing field. When not performing his duties he'll be taken care of by all of the squad members, in turn, on rotation.
