Meeting with EE
I met with an EE representative to discuss mobile coverage in Eddisbury and what EE were doing specifically to ensure that constituents are able to access 4G. We had an extremely productive discussion and I was pleased to find out that EE will be significantly improving their coverage around Eddisbury over the next 12 months. I am hopeful that mobile black spots will soon become a thing of the past in Eddisbury and will continue to put pressure on mobile providers to ensure that the whole constituency is adequately covered.
Westminster Hall debate on grouse shooting
I spoke in the recent Westminster Hall debate on grouse shooting. The debate on the motion; 'that this House has considered e-petitions 125003 and 164851 relating to driven grouse shooting' was generated by members of the public signing two e-petitions, one asking the Government to ban driven grouse shooting and the other asking it to protect grouse moors and shooting. I spoke with a number of my colleagues in support of grouse shooting and referred to how grouse moor management has done a lot to conserve the natural habitat, as well as providing over 1,500 jobs in England alone.

Talking Buses campaign
I was proud to show my support for the Guide Dogs UK 'Talking Buses' campaign. This campaign is essential to making buses more accessible for blind people. Audio announcements will help blind people identify where they are and where they need to get off. Guide Dogs UK report that seven in 10 people with sight loss have been forgotten about on a bus. Currently one fifth of all UK buses are talking -- I for one would like to see that increased.

Big Energy Saving Week 2016
I was proud to support Cheshire West Citizens Advice which is currently taking part in Big Energy Saving Week 2016 which started on the 31st of October. Big Energy Saving Week is a national campaign run in partnership with Citizens Advice, the Energy Saving Trust and the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy with the support of many more organisations, charities and companies. There are good savings to be had, that in addition to the Governments Winter Fuel Allowance could make a significant contribution to home energy costs. If constituents are worried about the process, I would urge them to ask relatives or the Citizens Advice service for help.
Cheshire West Citizens Advice is holding energy saving events on how to get the best value for money from their gas and electricity between 10am -- 12 midday on:
Monday 7th November -- Winsford Library
Tuesday 8th November -- Northwich Library
Wednesday 9th November -- Chester Library
Thursday 10th November -- Ellesmere Port Library

Meeting with the Historic Houses Association
I was delighted to meet with Director General Ben Cowell and Director of Policy and Campaigns Emma Robinson from the Historic Houses Association. The HHA have done a lot for Cheshire and Eddisbury's historic residences including the resplendent Combermere Abbey in the south of the constituency. I believe it is essential that we do all that we can to preserve our historic homes and monuments and I was very interested to hear of the work the HHA have been undertaking.
