Moseleyís Yard fire lights up the Audlem sky

The Audlem night sky was lit up on Friday evening by flames leaping from the Moseley's Yard development. A portacabin appeared to be ablaze. The fire brigade was called and, fortunately, the fire was soon under control. First on the scene was the cast rehearsing this year's Methodist musical. They had just finished in the chapel opposite. The musical this year is entitled 'Wildfire'. Had they been a little too enthusiastic in their singing?

Head of Audlem's retained firefighters, Dave Roberts, was dining at the Lord Combermere when the alarm was raised. In a dramatic dash, he was seen by customers to abandon his meal and was on the scene in seconds with fellow Audlem firefighters who extinguished the blaze. A tender from Nantwich also came to the scene. Dave Roberts was later able to return for his pudding but we are unable to confirm if his choice was flambeed! Soon after the blaze was discovered, passers by sent in the following photographs:
