More News from Audlem St James' school following on from yesterday's news:
A reminder that FASA's first fundraising event of the school year is a Pub Quiz at the Lord Combermere on Tuesday 30th September. The quiz begins at 9.00pm and will be hosted by Ralph Warburton. All proceeds from the quiz go to FASA and their support for projects in school.
ABC would like to welcome all our new parents and children. They are open Monday to Thursday, 7.45 – 6.00 p.m. and provide breakfast club, pre-pre-school nursery sessions for 2 & 3 year olds and an after school club. Please contact Lynsey on 01270 669050 with any enquiries.
Reminder – Bryony Nixon will be in school next week to judge the marrows and we ask that children bring their entries into school on Monday 15th September in preparation for this. Please ensure each plant is clearly labelled with your child's name and year group when they bring them in on this day.
Well done to our School Cook, Mrs Hayward who represented our school and Cheshire East School Cooks at last weekend's Nantwich Food and Drink Festival, she did a wonderful job! Look out for photographs of her presentation on our school website and in the local press.
We would still like to add one more person to our Mid Day team, if you are interested in this role within school please contact the school office for an application form.
As part of our Literacy Themed week in school, we will be holding a Scholastic Book Fair in school. The Fair will begin on Thursday 25th September. We will run the fair after school in the school hall every evening from 3.30 – 4.00pm.
The last evening of the fair will be Wednesday 1st October.
We would like to politely remind parents not to park on pavements outside school at the beginning and end of the school day. These are very busy times outside school and the safety of pedestrians is paramount. Please also consider our local residents at these times.
Mrs Vaughan would like to remind parents and children that lessons will start again on Friday 19th, so don't forget to bring your instruments.
Lessons with Mrs Shackleton have already begun and now take place on Thursdays. Lessons are offered on a group or individual basis in Piano, Clarinet, Violin (both of which we have available to hire from school, free of charge), Flute and Guitar. Mrs Shackleston also leads our Choir Club on Thursday lunchtimes each week. If you would like to find out more about these lessons please email Mrs Shackleston directly on all4musicality@yahoo.co.uk to find out more.
If anyone would like to start flute lessons or recorder lessons, please come along to see Mrs Vaughan after school on Friday 19th where you can have a go on a flute and find out more details. Ideally, you should be in Y3, upwards to learn flute or Y1 upwards to learn the recorder. If you can't make this time but would be interested, please leave a message with the office.
