Meet Audlem Car Park 8.30 am

Jean Stainthorpe is leading this walk around Whitchurch

It is muddy in places so poles are recommended to help keep one's balance.

This walk is 8.7 miles, fairly flat and takes us from the town through woods and pasture land, crossing the disused Cambrian railway, passes by Alkington Hall, Dearnford Hall, Brown Moss and back into the town.

We start from Sherry Mill car Park post code SY13 1XA. From Audlem take A525 to Whitchurch, at roundabout on outskirts of Whitchurch, take B5398 towards the town centre, follow Station Road to traffic lights, turn right into London Road passing Sainsbury's on your right. Left at mini roundabout into Bargate, at the church mini roundabout turn right, then at next mini roundabout turn right down Sherry Mill Hill to car park on left with free parking.

NB All walkers must have suitable footwear and be prepared for adverse weather, carry food and water to last for the entire walk and be suitably fit for the various lengths of walk.

Each walk is led by a nominated leader who will carry some first-aid equipment. The leader has the right to refuse to include in a group anyone who is felt not be adequately equipped.

Non-members of Audlem Rambling Society (ARS) are welcome to come on a walk but are expected to join ARS and pay the membership fee after a trial walk or two.
