For those that may have been otherwise engaged when the AudlemOnline webteam wished all their readers and contributors a very happy New Year five minutes after midnight on New Year's morning, we drew attention to a number of major projects that, hopefully, will get the village off to a good start in the very near future:
- The Neighbourhood Plan is awaiting news – it had been hoped for just before Christmas – that the village's proposals are approved by the Independent Examiner. The delay, we are told, is because the Examiner's report has had to be checked. Hopefully good news will arrive shortly and that the Audlem Neighbourhood Plan can be submitted to a local referendum and so, if approved, provide some protection from the predatory would-be developers.
- The APHAx committee are looking forward to hearing whether their final submission for Big Lottery award has been successful which will enable construction of the Public Hall Annexe to commence in 2016.
- It's some months now since Audlem Parish Council submitted its proposals to Cheshire East Council to take over the playing field, car park, tennis courts and children's play area from Cheshire East. Hopefully good news will be coming shortly.
All three projects will be major news announcements as soon as we have heard more.
