With many organisations in Audlem and district looking for speakers at their meetings, the following message received by AudlemOnline may be of interest.

If any organisation is interested, we will put you in touch with John and let you know how the fees he receives as a speaker go to a number of charities very close to him and his family's heart:

My name is John Parsons. I am the official Town Crier and Master of Ceremonies to the Lord of the Manor of Rode Hall and sergeant bellman to the 8th Baronet of Loventor Devon Sir Richard Baker-Wilbraham and Town Crier to the ancient market town of Nantwich.

Would you to consider me for your 2015/16 program of speakers? Being the ex-speaker secretary of the club I have heard many guests over the years give some extremely interesting and enthralling talks on all manor of subjects.

I arrive in full regalia of the town crier to the Lord of the Manor of Rode Hall or the official regalia of Nantwich Town to give the talk its full potential. I bring along some of the artifacts of town crying along with some accolades I have received from Her Majesty the Queen and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The talk, which lasts approximately 45/50 minutes, covers how as the past Town Mayor of Kidsgrove I managed to get the town crier of Kidsgrove reinstated. I tell all about how I became a crier to a member of the landed gentry, of which I am one of only four in the whole of England, and some of the awards I have received during my time as a crier.

I also tell of what a Town Crier does in modern days and how he represents his town, or city. I can assure you of a most interesting and indulging talk of which I am confidant you will enjoy this interesting and informative talk, and would make an ideal talk for wives and partners.
