This Saturday (January 14th) sees the first ARS walk of the new year. It will be led by Anton Woolford, and here is his description of the walk.:
Drive to Teggs Nose Top Car Park (SK11 0AP) – a pay & display with toilets.
Walk to Macclesfield Forest and up to Charity Lane to Forest Chapel. Then onwards across Buxtors Hill to Shutlingsloe (at 506m 1660ft – the 3rd highest top in Cheshire).
Our return route drops down through Macclesfield Forest to Bottoms Reservoir and finally the 'gentle' climb back up to the Car Park.
A total of 9 miles and 2122ft of climb – a notable 3 booter.
NB All walkers must have suitable footwear and be prepared for adverse weather, carry food and water to last for the entire walk and be suitably fit for the various lengths of walk.
Each walk is led by a nominated leader who will carry some first-aid equipment. The leader has the right to refuse to include in a group anyone who is felt not be adequately equipped.
