Local rider wins at National Dressage Competition

Hankelow based rider Izzy Maughan has won the Novice Junior Dressage competition at the British Riding Clubs KBIS Novice Winter Championships which took place at Arena Uk, near Grantham, this last weekend.

Izzy was riding her own 16hh gelding Cracking Opposition, known as 'Fletcher' in the stable. Izzy has has trained Fletcher herself with the help of Gemma Bonnell who is based at Manor Farm in Audlem.

The combination were also 3rd in the Preliminary Dressage and part of the team from Nantwich Riding Club who were placed 9th overall.

The championships brings together riders from 23 areas from all over the United Kingdom. Izzy's younger sister Anna was also part of the Nantwich Riding Club Showjumping Team who were placed 7th overall.
