Tonight the FatPigeonLive team are broadcasting the second of three live music sessions filmed in the village on the 9th March. Many in Audlem will be aware of Jim Kirkpatrick, a local musician who over the last decade has become a respected international blues guitarist. Tonight's broadcast features Jim and his rock & blues band Heavy Weather.
Together, Jim and his band perform numerous killer originals from Jim's solo album Changed Priorities. There is also an excellent rendition of the Allman Brothers song 'Whipping Post' which features an explosive bass solo from Chris Cliff, Jim's bass player who's recently returned from a tour in Israel. The rhythm section is completed by ex-Climax Blues Band drummer Kegsy McCallum.
As always, you can watch the video by clicking the photograph above. Incidentally, anyone who missed the previous session (broadcast last week) can watch classically trained singer Michaela Wylde performing songs from her recent album 'Painted Smile' Just click here.
You'll notice a few Audlem faces in the audience as you watch tonight's show, if you'd like to become part of that audience for the next Fat Pigeon recording day, it will take place at Audlem Public Hall on Saturday 7th May from 7:30pm. Those who haven't yet experience the FPL sessions should really come along, the team transform the public hall into a TV studio with backdrops, gantries and lighting.
For May's gig, music will be provided by underground folk pioneer Russell Morgan, Shrewsbury-based songstress Beth Prior and professional jazz trumpeter Ray Butcher and his band. The bar will feature a specially sourced real ale, along with the usual selection of wines. Tickets are selling like hot cakes, so grab yours today.
