Local resident Ann jones sent us this interesting note about her recognition as a poet inspired by the Llyn Peninsula.

Dear Editor, I thought readers may be interested to know that I have had my fifth poem published in 'Welsh Coastal Life' Magazine.

I was on holiday in Aberdaron on the Llyn Peninsula last year, when I first purchased a copy and was interested to learn that the publishers invited readers to send in articles, comments, poetry etc. Since I had recently written a small booklet containing poems inspired by the Llyn Peninsula I forwarded some of my work. Four of my poems were published in the consecutive September, October, November and December issues last year. I won a year's subscription to both Welsh Coastal Life and Welsh Border life magazines.

This morning I have received a copy of both magazines as my fifth poem Y Bwthyn has been published in the September 2017 issue of Welsh Coastal Life Magazine.

Having noted your article on 'The Jones's, I would add that although I am now a Jones, I was a Lewis, I am half Welsh and my Welsh genes have given me my love of Wales, my love of language and music and the ability to understand 'hieryth' for which the English have no word.

Kind regards,
Ann Jones

Ed: Thank you Ann. We will be publishing Ann's poem "Y Bwythyn " tomorrow for your enjoyment and hopefully more in subsequent weeks

Judy from Williams the Newsagent writes to say both are available in her shop
