Audlem's "Royal" Poet has asked me to present her Christmas Card Poem for the festive season and through myself to wish all the very best for the coming festivities.

Jessie is building her portfolio of works so as to be ready for the huge Audlem Music & Arts Festival when we will again be hosting a Poetry Grand Slam on the 23rd May in the Bridge Inn as part of all we will be offering over the long holiday weekend.

It will be, I am sure, a very popular night with many suitors for the top award for best poetry.

Christmas Greetings

By Jessie

Wherever did I put my Christmas card book?
Friends and family are all in there
I've tried the cupboards – everywhere-
There's no where else to look!
It seems no time since I put it away
In readiness for another day
Ah. Yes. It's found, so I'll proceed
I hope I've all the cards I need
I write the names on this year's list
I'm truly thankful there's none to be missed
Some to be added as families grow
And new friends we've had the pleasure to know
When all is 'Done and Dusted' as they say
I wish them God speed and send them on their way
Hoping they bring health and happiness to one and all
So it's Christmas and God bless from Jess
