With little Audlem news to report over the Bank Holiday weekend, and astonished by the passion aroused by the Audlem Online Forum on outside live music following a 'Rockin Horse' birthday party gig at the Bridge Inn a few weeks ago, an intrepid Audlem news correspondent attended last night's outdoor Rolling Stones concert in Sheffield to investigate the issue.

The music was loud, it has to be admitted, and certainly up there in quality with Rockin Horse. And yes, there were complaints – one from a gentleman in Doncaster, twenty miles away, who claimed he couldn't hear himself think and another from an elderly lady in Barnsley who said she preferred the Beatles.

It appears, however, unlike in Audlem, the complaints fell on deaf ears. Asked if he had any response, the gentleman from Doncaster said: "I've tried, and I've tried, but I can't get no Satisfaction, hey, hey, hey." But then again, he may have enjoyed the concert more than he'll let on!
