For those that read yesterday's story about AudlemOnline's near 16% rise in readership in 2015 to 883,703 readers clicking on, one inevitable question springs to mind: will the website attract a million readers in 2016?

It's a thought that will drive the webteam on – at least those addicted by statistics – although it will be a tall order as large percentage increases are ever tougher to achieve as the website gets more established – it's now in its eleventh year. And let's face it, the local population is still only about 2,500, roughly the daily readership we attract.

We do start with one advantage in 2016. It's a Leap Year. So, assuming we attract our typical daily readership on 29th February, on the other 365 days of the year we need to see an increase of 12.9% readers on average to pass that magic million mark.

As we say, it's a tall order, but it's always good to start the year with a tough target in mind.
