Residents may remember a Saturday morning about four years ago when the Whitchurch road was closed near the Weaver bridge and a cyclist who had been hit by a swinging trailer was helicoptered to hospital.

This was Lizzie Tench and she has been left paralysed from the waist down.

She has made the most of this life changing accident, however, and has just returned from Chicago with a Bronze medal in the ITU paratriathlon for team GB!

The photo shows Lizzie (front right) on a training day.
