As regular readers will be well aware, the public toilets at the car park entrance in Cheshire Street have been a great success since they were fully refurbished four years ago after being taken over by Audlem Parish Council from Cheshire East, who had earlier closed down the facility.
Mike Hill, the parish councillor with responsibility for the toilets, found a note from a lady user saying how wonderful they were but for one problem: "They would be so much better with coat hooks on the inside of the cubicle doors."
Mike was soon back armed with screwdriver and the appropriate hooks and the request was met.
Shortly afterwards, another note, in the same hand, awaited him as he carried out his regular inspection of the facilities to ensure all was well: it was a note of thanks!
And that's just one of the reasons the toilets have rightly earned a Gold in the Loo of the Year Awards.
