Homes plan for former gardens on Paddock Lane

Plans have been lodged for outline consent to build two sem-detatched homes on Paddock Lane, near Audlem.

The plot of land lies between two existing semi-detached houses on one side and the detached Kynsal Cottage on the other.

A Design and Access statement to Cheshire East Council by Congleton-based Agricultural Consultant, David Hughes, says the site used to contain garages and the garden area for the existing semi-detached dwellings.

The semi-detached dwellings were originally built as three cottages and two concrete panel garages were erected on the application site with full planning consent in 1970.

The site was used for garages and gardens for the cottages but in 1975 planning consent was given to convert the three original cottages into two and during conversion the garages were demolished.

Now the owner wants to build two sem-detached homes on the site of the garages. The proposal is for a traditional brick design with a tiled roof.

"They will be sympathetically designed to blend in with the existing dwellings on either side of the plot, " says the statement.

The garage bases are still present and the garden contains three old apple trees and two former Christmas trees.

The statement says the site is now overgrown with vegetation which the owner cuts once a year and it has on several occasions been the subject of fly tipping.

The statement adds that although a small length of hedge will have to be removed to provide access the proposals "will have no impact on any valuable environmental or ecological resources."

Interested parties can find details of the plan under reference number 13/3092N on the Cheshire East website and the last date for submitting comments is 4th September.

Outline planning permission will be determined by a planning officer under delegated power with a target decision date of 20th September
