HMI Monitoring Visit Update

We were visited by Sonja Oyen (HMI) for an OFSTED monitoring visit last Friday. The day was a very positve experience as Sonja highlighted many of the improvements made in school since our last monitoring visit in November.

She also recoginsed how far our school has come in a short space of time. Some of the aspects of school she highlighted were:

  • Much has been achieved since my first visit in late November 2012...the school is now well placed to build on the strong foundation established.
  • Evidence from headteacher's and subject leaders' monitoring indicates improved quality of teaching over time – underlined by the data of pupils' progress.
  • Governance is strengthening in holding the school to account
  • There is a very strong lead from headteacher – she has vision, drive and clear expectations.

This outcome is testament to the hard work staff, Governors, children and parents have put into school and is another clear indication that our school is improving rapidly.
