Audlem History Society's talk this Thursday evening (18th April) will be on Fletcher Moss and his travels in Cheshire and Shropshire.
The talk, given by Dr. Diana Leitch, illustrates the early explorations by bicycle and train in the early 20th century by this historian and his photographic companion, and is based on his 7 books of "Pilgrimages to Old Houses". Fletcher Moss visited Audlem, Crewe, Woore, Sandbach & Wybunbury amongst many other places, and Dr. Leitch recommended this talk as being of especial interest to us in Audlem.
We first heard one of her talks last year when we visited the Catalyst Science Discovery Centre in Widnes of which Dr. Leitch is chair of the Trustees there. Diana is a wonderful, vibrant and enlightening speaker who can make any subject come alive, as we soon discovered for ourselves.
Do come along for what is sure to be a very interesting evening.
The talk starts at 7.30pm in the Scout and Guide Hall.
Visitors pay £3 on the door; students are free and all are very welcome.
