July 29th & 30th

The annual Gathering of Historic Boats, organised by Peter and Chris at Audlem Mill, will take place over the weekend of 29th & 30th July.

There will be approximately 30 ex-working boats on the canal, stretching from the main road bridge down to the bottom of the locks. They were built between the 1880s and 1960 for several different operating companies – as their bright colour schemes show.

Do come along to the canal, and enjoy the show, which is completely free. The boat crews will be very pleased to tell you all about the boats and their history.

Moored by the wharf is the last remaining Shroppie fly-boat, after which the Shroppie Fly pub was named.
