Following the Public Meeting last Thursday, the Parish Council voted unanimously at their regular meeting on 14 July 2014 for a policy of creating a 'Residents First' Neighbourhood Plan as part of a full Neighbourhood Plan.
Councillors agreed to create a sub-committee (comprising the current planning sub-committee members, plus any other councillors who wish to be involved). This new sub-committee will then appoint a steering group consisting of volunteer residents and parish councillors who will oversee the whole process. Initially, this will involve residents being consulted on where they would like to see development (site allocations).
Working groups, reporting to the steering group, will also be set up to look at all aspects of the Neighbourhood Plan.
This will all take a lot of time, and for it to stand any chance of success in the timescales necessary, it will require substantial assistance from as many people as possible. This means not just the Parish Council. Indeed, without a significant input from others outside the Parish Council itself, it will not succeed.
