Audlem Carbon Emissions Reduction

We hope you saw the information introducing the Audlem Carbon Emissions Reduction project (ACER) and the associated 'Challenge the Village' leaflet from 1st Audlem Guides. The ACER team intended public activities to follow the distribution of the leaflets, but the Coronavirus had other ideas!

With the pandemic causing all sorts of challenges for people, we understand that ACER's call to action might have got overlooked. But scientists warn that time for preventing runaway climate change is running out, and say cutting our greenhouse gas emissions is now critical. Have you calculated your environmental footprint? If not, give it a go now using the WWF calculator at https://footprint.wwf.org.uk

Your WWF Footprint

The need to limit our emissions is clear if we are to leave a viable planet for our children and grandchildren and a good starting point is knowing what our current footprint measurement is. So, if you haven't used the calculator yet, click here and have a go now!

ACER wanted to cite a Cheshire East average footprint so that Audlem residents could compare, but this number is not available. So, we thought if we all share our WWF calculator results we would have an average footprint value for our community, which could be provided to Cheshire East showing that Audlem & District once again leads the way! T

he ACER team are talking with a Keele University expert on environmental sustainability and green technology about developing a community focussed environmental footprint calculator. In the meantime, will you share your WWF footprint findings with the ACER team? This can be easily done at https://acer.audlem.org where you can contact ACER by email, contact form or chatbox. We look forward to hearing from you. And when we're all vaccinated, we look forward to seeing you out and about at an ACER event!
