There has been correspondence on the Chatbox about High Speed Broadband which may be of interest to a wider readership.
Julian Harrison, who has a local computer services business, asked on Chatbox: "Any ideas how far into Hankelow the fibre service is proposed to supply.
He added: "I've got customers waiting to connect and we're all getting conflicting information on an availability date and coverage."
Ross responded: "I understand that the cabinet on the corner of Longhill Lane, near the White Lion (Cabinet 4) will be enabled for fibre to the cabinet (fttc) and premises connected to that by copper should therefore be able to get the service with speeds dependent on distance from the cabinet.
"I have no idea when this is due to happen or if there are any arrangements for any further extension of fibre to the premises (fttp).
"If people enter their phone number on the Connecting Cheshire site they should get a message telling them if they are connected to a cabinet due to be fibre enabled."
When AudlemOnline met Connecting Cheshire representatives last Friday, they confirmed, after opening up their maps on their iPads, that Hatherton residents would be able to upgrade but, as yet, we have no confirmed dates.
