I am a descendant of Thomas Hassall of Audlem, who was transported for murder in 1831.
Our family connection to Thomas is very strong. He is remembered often, and his story retold.
I would be very interested to contact any relatives in the area or the lady that did the research in your village.

Our picture shows the Hunter Valley in Australia where Thomas apparently lived to a ripe old age after his original death sentence was commuted to transportation
