Cheshire East Council are currently running a consultation to assess views of residents about the timing of the green waste winter shutdown, the length of shut down and the preferred method of communication to residents.

Shutting down the garden waste service over the coldest months of the year, the Council argues, ensures efficient use of Council resources and provides carbon savings in reducing heavy vehicle usage at a time of low participation in the service.

Some Audlem residents, however, were unhappy that the winter shutdown was longer than in previous years last winter and excessive waste built up at a time that gardens were being cleared over winter.

The survey is open to all residents of Cheshire East.

The consultation will be open between 11th June 2014 until 23rd July 2014.
