The three finalists of the Audlem Sausage competition have been pitted against each other in a public vote ; the turn out to the taste-off was impressive and the winner was in the lead pretty much from the start.
The three finalists were:
In the taste-off we had in excess of 130 tasting votes and it was comprehensively won by the 'Pleasant Pheasant' sausage with 46% of the votes, a recipe submitted by Norman Huntbach.
We are delighted that the 'Pleasant Pheasant' has won, as we love to promote game sales through the shop, further more supported by our sausage maker, Zoe Corney who is married to a gamekeeper on a local estate.
The majority of our dressed game is supplied through this estate and we are thrilled to have an additional product line to add to our seasonal range.Thank you to all who submitted an entry , it is great to have customers with such inspiring ideas!
Congratulations also go to Janet Spencer & Julie Dunlop, the other two shortlisted entries.
We are looking forward to taking delivery of some freshly dressed pheasants this week as well as pheasant breasts to make the first official batch of the Audlem 2015 Sausage of the Year- 'Pleasant Pheasant'.
