Before Christmas we were visited by a representative from Chester Diocese who reviewed our church school distinctiveness. Our visitor was tremendously impressed with our wonderful children and the work of staff, Governors, Reverend Helen and church members, which supports children's development through Christian values. Since her visit, she has contacted me to say: 'It was a pleasure to visit a school where the gospel is so clearly lived out and where the spiritual development of the children has such a high profile. This was apparent both visually and in discussion with children. Thank you for all the information shared during the visit and for the exciting ways in which you bring the Good News of Christ to life for the children.'

The first FASA meeting of the new term will take place next Tuesday (19th January) at 2pm in the school hall. I hope many of you will be able to attend.
ABC would like to welcome the new children that have started breakfast club and after school this term. There are still some places left at ABC's after school clubs which run from 3:15-4:15pm each day, if you would like your children to join in with the fun at these sessions please contact one of the team.
ABC would also like to remind parents if your children attend ABC 'ad hoc', for extra sessions or for holiday club, please pre book these sessions to ensure ABC have the right number of staff on duty. If you require any further information about ABC please contact Stephanie Gray or Carina Roos (Assistant Managers) on 01270 74808 07786985110.
We still have some vacancies in this half term's clubs. Netball, Percussion, Maths 24, Key Stage 2 Choir and Sportscape Gymnastics all have spaces. If you would like your child to take part in one of these clubs please contact Mrs Howard or Mrs Taylor in our School Office.
A reminder that this meeting will be held in the school hall at 3.30pm on Wednesday 20th January.
A reminder that this meeting will be held in Mrs Bird's classroom at 5.00pm on Thursday 28th January. I hope Year 6 parents and carers can join us for this important update.
Following the NEP parents meeting yesterday about the importance of the role we all have in keeping children safe online; I would like to remind you of several useful websites. The CEOP site – www.ceop.gov.uk has a range of thought provoking and informative video clips and the Thinkuknow site – www.thinkuknow.co.uk/parents has a parents section. Both are informative and helpful in supporting our children in the technological world we live in.
I would like to ask all parents and carers to find time for 'Bug Busting' during this weekend as we have had several reported cases of head lice in school this week.
Please ensure that you check your child's hair before we return to school on Monday. I would also like to remind all parents to inform school if your child has had head lice so we are able to alert other parents and carers in class groups to this as soon as possible to help avoid further spread. Thank you.
One of our Global Ambassadors in school, Maisy Goodwin, has been sharing with school the work of the New Hope Orphanage in Kenya, Africa this week. You may remember that we asked our school community to help with donations for the children of this orphanage last year. Maisy has spoken to the children in school about projects people she knows are involved in to support the work of the orphanage and to try to raise funds to set up a Nursery for the children in the area.
To help with this appeal, we are asking for families to check if they have any old football or sport tops and or loom bands (both of which are tremendously popular with the children the charity supports!) and to send any donations of these items into school before the end of January to be sent out to Kenya where they will be very gratefully received. Please try to support this worthwhile appeal if you can. Thank you.
We have been contacted by a local resident this week highlighting inconsiderate parking at pick up time at the top of Monks Lane. As you know, our local PCSO Nick Jarvis regularly monitors this area at pick up and drop off times. Please consider this and the safety of both children in school and local residents when parking near school at these times.
