(The website link that was here no longer works) This year's musical at Audlem Methodist Church is 'Godspell', music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz. The word 'Godspell' is an Old English version of the word 'gospel', meaning good news. The musical 'Godspell' tells the good news of Jesus, through an energetic presentation of parables largely found in St Matthew's Gospel. 'Godspell' was first performed in New York in 1971, and is about to be performed in Audlem for (we think) the first time.

Twenty-four young people provide the action, backed by a chorus and band of a further forty. Add in some highly professional lighting, sound, computer imaging and projection, and it should be a show not to be missed. There are five performances, from Tuesday 12 to Saturday 16 February, all beginning at 7.30 pm. Entry is by programme, available from Julia Parton (programmes@audlemmethodistchurch.org.uk">programmes@audlemmethodistchurch.org.uk).
