Gladman closing statement at Inquiry

For those who became addicted to the legal battles at the Inquiry into building 120 dwellings at Little Heath a few weeks ago, at long last we have a couple of missing pieces to the jigsaw for your delectation.

While AudlemOnline had sight of a printed copy of Gladman barrister John Barratt's closing statement, we did not have an electronic copy. Open it, and you will see why we were reluctant to start typing it out – it's very long. (Beware pressing print! It's 62 pages.)

We also have a copy of Gladman's bid for full costs i.e. their reasoning why the taxpayer should pay for the costs of their appeal for their speculative development bid, which is the second shorter document.

Compared with Cheshire East barrister's closing statement* which was read out at the end of the Inquiry, and was relatively easy to understand for us non-lawyers, Gladman's statement was not read out at the inquiry but was submitted days later to the Inspector.

It's not so easy to follow but is still of much interest for anyone interested in how developers argue their case and how planning decisions are considered.
